Glendale, CA - On Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 4:01 p.m., twelve Glendale Fire Department units (One Battalion Chief Command Team, three Engine Companies, two Truck Companies, two Basic Life Support Units, one Air Utility, one Urban Search and Rescue Team, one Hazardous Materials Team, and one Fire Investigator), under the direction of Battalion Chief Cody Smith, responded to an explosion at 700 Glenwood Rd. in the City of Glendale.
Glendale Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and quickly assessed the situation for any injuries. Two patients with non-life threatening injuries were transported to the local area hospital. The Glendale Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team was on scene to help evaluate and confirm there were no chemical hazards.
The Glendale Police Department was on scene to assist with traffic control and securing the building. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
