The Glendale Police Department and the Glendale Fire Department would like to ensure that everyone has a safe 4th of July holiday experience with their family and friends.
To help ensure everyone’s safety, the City of Glendale will have a zero tolerance approach when dealing with municipal code violations relating to fireworks.
The Glendale Municipal Code, Section 8.16.010, makes the sale, use, possession, or storage of fireworks illegal within the city. Each violation of the Glendale Municipal Code is a misdemeanor, and is punishable by fines of up to $1,000.00 and/or six months in jail for each offense.
Our Glendale hillsides and mountains are very vulnerable; therefore we encourage residents to refrain from using fireworks. Fireworks burn at extremely high temperatures and can quickly ignite a fire and rapidly burn through clothing and skin, causing severe injury.
Professionally coordinated fireworks shows will be conducted throughout Southern California, which afford individuals and families a great opportunity to view spectacular displays in a safe environment.
The City of Glendale is a sponsor of the Crescenta Valley Fireworks Association’s Fireworks Show that is open to the public on July 4th from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the La Crescenta Elementary School playground located at 4343 La Crescenta Avenue, La Crescenta.
