"Office Creeper" Thief - Need to Identify
Sergeant Robert William, Glendale Police Department
The Glendale Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who has committed several thefts from doctors’ offices across the San Gabriel Valley.
The suspect is seen through surveillance footage walking through an office building located in the 1800 block of Verdugo Boulevard in the City of Glendale. The suspect enters the building during business hours and tries door knobs to various offices while walking down the hallway. Once he’s able to find an open and unsecured office, he casually enters and targets purses and wallets that are left unsupervised by employees. In some circumstances, the suspect came into contact with employees and never lost his composure. Instead, he claimed to be a pharmaceutical sales representative and continued on.
During the month of August, the suspect targeted offices in Glendale, Pasadena and Arcadia. Detectives from all three agencies are now working together to identify the suspect.
The suspect used the victims’ credit cards in various cities including East Los Angeles areas and Costa Mesa. Surveillance footage from the establishments of where the credit cards were used indicates the suspect has an associate that accompanies him.
The primary suspect is described as possibly Hispanic between the ages of 50 to 60 years old, 5’5” to 5’7” tall, medium build, receding hairline with slicked back hair, mustache and tinted glasses.
The associate is described as male Hispanic between the ages of 40 to 50 years old, heavy build, heavily tattooed with a light trimmed beard.
The suspect vehicle is a white sedan, possibly a 2011-2016 Hyundai Elantra or similar.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or the associate or who may have information that may assist in the investigation is asked to call the Glendale Police Department at 818-548-4911. Anonymous tips can be submitted to the Los Angeles Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or lacrimestoppers.com.
