Welcome to the City of Glendale!
Glendale is one of the region's premiere locations in which to live, work and play. As the fourth largest city in Los Angeles County, Glendale boasts a diverse and vibrant community. With safe and attractive residential neighborhoods, parks, libraries and other amenities, award-winning schools, and a quality of life that is unique and highly sought, Glendale is a shining example of exceptional municipal service. Glendale has its own electrical and water utility service, a first-class fire department--and thanks to our Police Department--is one of the safest cities for its size in the country.
This vibrancy and excitement is evident in our dynamic business environment. Glendale is home to both global and nationally known corporations such as Dine Equity (IHOP, Applebee's), AT&T Interactive, Public Storage, DreamWorks, and LegalZoom, as well as several divisions of the Walt Disney Company. In addition, over 10,000 individuals are employed in our healthcare sector anchored by Glendale Adventist Hospital, Dignity Health Glendale Memorial Hospital, and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. The City is also a long-time retail and automotive sales center. Both the Glendale Galleria and adjacent Americana at Brand house over 1.5 million square feet of space, one of the highest concentrations of retail stores in Southern California. In addition, the Brand Boulevard of Cars was one of the first auto rows in the nation and is currently the home of 16 new vehicle dealerships featuring 25 brands. Yet, Glendale is still attractive and accessible to small investors and entrepreneurs which enhance our many business districts. Truly, our strength is our diversity.
Glendale is a leader among cities. Through the vision of the Glendale City Council, we are able to balance new growth and development while preserving a rich and honored heritage. Our City staff is professional, expert and focused on providing exceptional customer service, setting the standard for other local governments.
Thank you for visiting Glendale. Whether you are here to live, work or play, Glendale is the place for you!!
