LIBRARY CONNECTION @ ADAMS SQUARE - Lanterman Regional Center Armenian Parent Support Group

Parent Support Group

The Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center, in cooperation with the Library, Arts & Culture Department, hosts a monthly support group for Armenian-speaking families of children with special needs. The gatherings will be held at the Library Connection@Adams Square located at 1100 East Chevy Chase Drive, Glendale, CA 91205, in the City’s Adams Square district. The events will continue on the third Tuesdays of every month. In addition to this program, the Library Connection@Adams Square provides a variety of resources to help support families making Glendale their new home.

Partnerships shall be promoted and supported among individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, service providers and the community, for the design, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of services to achieve quality outcomes,” is one of the key Lanterman philosophies, which is aligned with the Library Connection@Adams Square’s mission of providing needed bilingual services to immigrant families in Glendale.

Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center is a private, non-profit corporation that operates under contract with California’s Department of Developmental Services. The Center serves over 9,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities, who have or are at risk for a developmental delay or disability, and who are at high-risk of parenting an infant with a disability. Families with children who experience Autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, intellectual disability and/or any condition closely related to mental retardation or requiring similar treatment are served.
