Hovhaness TumanyanHovhannes Tumanyan House Museum is the most beloved destination in Yerevan for children and adults. Since April 1953, the museum has been dedicated to renowned prominent writer, poet, and humanitarian Hovhaness Toumanian, with 18,000 exhibited items. The six rooms of the museum represent the perfect replica of Toumanian’s last apartment in Tiblisi. The museum is also rich with artistic masterpieces that used to decorate Toumanian’s apartment during his lifetime (most notable works are those of G. Bashinjaghyan and P. Terlemezian), and also with newer works that were influenced by the writer’s life and creations (M. Saryan, G. Khanjyan, Al. Grigoryan and others). The 54 steps leading up to the entrance of the museum symbolize the lifetime spent of the great Armenian.
