Holy Crow Jazz Band is a Los Angeles (formerly NYC) based ensemble that performs traditional American jazz and blues circa 1900-1930. The band is led by Mario J. Maggio (clarinet and tenor sax) and Jessy Carolina (washboard and vocals) and features trumpet, trombone, guitar/banjo, and tuba. Holy Crow's repertoire includes many popular and obscure songs from artists like King Oliver, Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Jabbo Smith and features wild horn solos and powerhouse vocals by the phenomenal Jessy Carolina.

Seating is limited and first come first served, no reserved seating. The Plaza seats 75 - 90 people for a performance; visitors are welcome to bring a chair or blanket and sit on the grassy hillsides in Brand Park. Performances run between 60 and 90 minutes without intermission.
The City of Glendale’s Performance Series began in 2014 to celebrate the renovation and reopening of the historic Brand Library & Art Center. The Brand Library & Art Center provides a free cultural asset to residents and attracts visitors to experience arts and cultural opportunities in the city. This Performance Series is designed to support arts organizations and to bring distinguished cultural programming to Glendale. The Performance Series is supported by the City of Glendale and the Glendale Arts & Culture Commission, with funding from the Urban Art Program and the Brand Associates.
