The Theremin:
A Hands On-Hands Off Interactive Music Experience
Ed Sussman will discuss and perform on the Theremin. This is the first electronic instrument, developed in the 1920s, and is played without being touched. Ed will also discuss it's inventor, Leon Theremin, and his other inventions including motion detection alarms and spying devices. Theremin's unique untouchable instrument lead to the new electronic music technologies used today. The instrument has been used in popular classical, jazz, pop and rock classics. Ed will perform and also encourage the audience to participate and explore the magic of making music with the wave of their hands. Admission is free.
