Saturday | MARCH 9, 2019 | 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Artillery Magazine and Brand Library & Art Center host a panel discussion on the controversial subject of censorship in art.
Moderated by Stephen J. Goldberg, esq, Artillery legal columnist.
Panelists:
Casey Kauffmann - LA Multidisciplinary Digital Artist, William Moreno - Curator, Museum director, Zak Smith - LA artist and writer, and Artillery columnist
Each of our knowledgeable panelists approaches this hot-button issue from very different perspectives. Their discussion will touch upon recent events where lines have been drawn and lines have been crossed by artists, curators, and institutions. “Valley Girl Redefined” artist and panelist, Casey Kauffmann will respond directly to the censorship of her artwork on-line and in the gallery space. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to see Kauffmann’s artwork uncensored.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
