Meals:
The meal distribution plan for seniors currently enrolled in the Elderly Nutrition Program (ENP) – Congregate Meals Program is as follows:
- 7 days of frozen meals to seniors who have the means to warm up and store the food in refrigerator/freezer.
- Delivery by City staff or pick up option by the senior or friend/family/designee of senior on assigned days between 2:30pm-4:00pm
- A Brown Bag meal will be distributed to those who don’t have the means to warm up frozen meals and new clients* at two locations:
- Adult Recreation Center – 201 East Colorado, Glendale, CA 91205 –Monday-Friday ONLY
- Brown Bag Lunch Pick-up time is from 11:30am-12:30pm on the East side of the building at Louise St. entrance
- Sparr Heights Community Center – 1613 Glencoe Way, Glendale, CA 91208 – Monday – Friday ONLY
- Brown Bag Lunch Pick-up time is from 11:30am-12:30pm at Paloma Ave. entrance
- Adult Recreation Center – 201 East Colorado, Glendale, CA 91205 –Monday-Friday ONLY
*New Clients must fill out Universal Intake Form before receiving meal:
- New Client’s must be 60 years of age and older;
- Availability is based on supply

Cooling Fan Assistance Program:
How it works
The Cooling Fan Assistance Program is administered by the City of Glendale’s Community Services & Parks (CSP) department to help low-income seniors in Glendale keep cool when the temperatures rise. The program provides one free fan to elderly residents 60 years of age or older who live in the City of Glendale and meet other eligibility requirements.
The program enables seniors to remain comfortable while observing the “Safer At Home” Order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be 60 years of age or older.
- Service Areas: Glendale, Montrose, Verdugo City, and La Crescenta
- Meet low income guidelines (See Application)
- Have an urgent need for cooling assistance – no existing central air, fan or wall unit.
Required Documentation
- Government issued photo I.D. to verify age and identity
- Income documentation to verify income eligibility (See Application)

Supplies are LIMITED and will be distributed to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. We urge you to fill out the application online, if possible.
The fans will be delivered to the household to ensure applicants continue
to observe the “Safer At Home” Order.
