Welcome to Glendale Tree Stories, a story sharing project hosted by the City of Glendale Public Works Department.

Our mission is to collect all kinds of stories from residents about their favorite trees.

Between January 2021 and March 2022, our team will select a story each week to transform into an illustrated comic strip, with the help of our special project artist, Elkpen. These stories will be posted to the City’s Instagram account every Tuesday, and shared across the City’s social media channels. At the end of the project, ALL submissions will be collected and published online as a permanent archive of our community’s experiences, feelings, memories, and histories around our favorite trees.

Please help us by sending your story below! For inspiration, check out the City’s Instagram account, where we will be posting a new story prompt every week, starting in January 2021. You can also answer one of these questions below:

  • What tree reminds you the most of home?
  • Is there a tree that you find yourself visiting every time you go to a certain park?
  • Is there a tree that you look forward to seeing flower or change color every year?
