An elegant house party celebration is not what it seems. Two friends reunite and discover far more than they bargained for as secrets are revealed and relationships splinter. It falls on Percy to build something new, or lose everything. In this debut murder mystery, a pair of friends searches for clues in the darkest recesses of the occult.
Percy knew growing up with the Dodges meant certain obligations would follow him to his grave, but he never expected that an anniversary house party at the otherworldly family estate would place him in the crosshairs of multi-generational intrigue. Together with his childhood friend, Johnny, they seek to resolve the mysterious passing of Johnny’s Aunt Alice, while navigating the dark waters of an explosive long weekend.
Ivan attended Buckley and The Hill School and spent a year at Lancing College in Sussex, England before attending Boston University. He wrote in his youth, but it was never a passion. That changed in 2011, when he was hired by his wife, Mary Jo, to write articles on language and current affairs for her company’s website, which were then translated into Latin American Spanish.
In 2012, Ivan attended a Long Ridge Writer’s Group course and started writing fiction under the tutelage of Tom Hyman. As their friendship developed, Tom Hyman became his editor. The short stories led the way to the novel, Eye of the Moon.
Ivan lives in Southern California with his wife. His hobbies include running, photography, and music.
Copies of Eye of the Moon will be on sale (cash, check, credit). Please use Eventbrite.com to RSVP for the event and help the Friends of the Library determine the number of books to bring for sales and autographs. Search Ivan Obolensky Friends of the Library.
