Hazard Mitigation Plan Community Meeting

Among the many disasters that could befall a city of Glendale’s size and geographic location are major fires, earthquakes, flooding, and mudslides. The City of Glendale is committed to providing emergency services should disasters such as these arise, and is currently updating the City’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) to proactively facilitate and support community-wide policies, practices, and programs that make Glendale better prepared in the event of a disaster.

The City’s Hazard Mitigation Plan must be updated every five years, and with a plan in place, Glendale can continue to be eligible for FEMA Mitigation Grant Funds if a disaster is declared. Although the plan enables the City to be eligible for various assistance grants, the plan’s value really lies in the identification of hazards and helps the community better prepare for disasters.

Your participation can make our community more resilient to a disaster. We respectfully request a few moments of your time to respond to this brief survey:

Please join us for a Community Meeting on Thursday, May 31 at 6:30 p.m. at Fire station 21.
