Adam Walker Phillips will provide a look into the process of writing mystery novels. Drawing on some of the greats in the genre -- Raymond Chandler and Patricia Highsmith -- he will discuss several tricks-of-the-trade on plotting and structuring a classic whodunnit. He will also share his own experiences in writing the Chuck Restic Series while balancing a work and family.

Adam Walker Phillips is an executive at a global financial services company who has endured countless PowerPoint decks, offsite retreats and visioning sessions, synergies, and synergistically minded cross-functional teams, all in service of his work as a novelist to tell the story of an HR man-turned-moonlighting detective. Phillips holds an MFA in film from Columbia University, where his short films were featured in dozens of festivals worldwide, including Clermont-Ferrand and Palm Springs International. He was also the winner of New Line Cinema’s development award for his film, Bibles. He lives in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles with his wife and children.
