Friday Night Lecture:
Tracking the Elusive Puma
Johanna Turner, our guest speaker, has been tracking mountain lions in the Verdugo, San Gabriel, and Santa Monica mountains for ten years, working with Arroyos and Foothills Conservancy, Mountain Lion Foundation, National Wildlife Federation, and cooperating with the National Park Service mountain lion study. This lecture will feature beautiful wildlife photography of our local mountain lions. Get to know the secretive big cats who share your foothills (some are famous enough to have nicknames!) and find out how motion-sensing ‘camera traps’ work. Learn about P41, Nikita, Adonis, and how the lions in the Woolsey Fire burn area are doing. This event is FREE!!! But seating is limited. Please RSVP at (818) 548-3795. This program is recommended for ages 14 and older.
