2nd Annual Cherry Blossom Festival
Join the Friends of Shoseian at the 2nd Annual Cherry Blossom Festival, where sixteen visiting Tea Masters and students from Japan will lead three public tea ceremonies. Dancers also visiting from Japan will demonstrate a typical festival dance called Awa Odori.
We will have three food trucks just outside the Garden, and some great food selections inside the Garden as well. We will also have three live music performances, including the Japanese harp (Koto), the Japanese guitar (Shamisen), and the always-awesome Taiko Drummers.
We will also celebrate the completion of our interior Tea House renovation project.
Entrance to this event is FREE, though there is a requested $20 donation per person for any of the Tea Ceremonies. Friends of Shoseian is a non-profit IRC Section 501 (c) (3) organization - Contributions can be tax deductible under IRC Section 170.
There is no RSVP needed - seating for the Tea Ceremonies will be first come, first served.
