Birdwalk on the Riverwalk

Winter Birdwalk 2019 12Birdwalk on the Riverwalk

Join us for our annual bird watching trek along the Los Angeles River in the city of Glendale.  This is a rare opportunity to spend time watching the birds that are on the river during the fall and winter months. Our leader for the morning is Alexander deBarros from the San Fernando Valley Audubon Society. This event is FREE!  Please RSVP by calling 818-548-3795.

Over a dozen local private and public service providers will come together to provide information and resources to homeless persons that will facilitate obtaining services and housing. The Glendale Connect Day is part of a National Project Homeless Connect Day.  On this day, cities across the country will hold one-day service events designed to connect homeless individuals and families who are not currently accessing services with local service providers. Homeless attendees will learn how to utilize available resources to address the problems contributing to their homelessness.  Among the agencies to be represented are Ascencia Glendale, The Salvation Army, Department of Social Services, Social Security Administration, Department of Mental Health, Catholic Charities, YWCA of Glendale, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale Memorial Hospital, County of Los Angeles, Department of Public Health, Glendale Police Department, and City of Glendale.
