Male with Prior Felony Conviction Arrested for Possession of Loaded Firearm

On March 30, 2022 at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Glendale PD patrol officer observed a vehicle parked in a disabled parking zone that did not have a disabled parking placard. The officer approached the vehicle and spoke to a male in the driver’s seat, identified as 29-year-old Tavon Bogues of Brooklyn, New York. Bogues was unable to provide identification or vehicle registration. Assisting units arrived and officers used departmental resources to discover that Bogues’s driver’s license was suspended. A search of his person produced a loaded pistol in his front pocket. A vehicle search produced an altered check addressed to someone else, three cell phones, and other miscellaneous items. During the investigation, officers learned that Bogues had a prior felony conviction. Bogues was subsequently arrested and booked for carrying a loaded firearm in public, being in possession of a firearm with a prior felony conviction, and identity theft.
