What is the Charter and who wants it reviewed? 

The Charter is Glendale's Constitution.
It's currently 103 years old.
It's been almost 20 years since it last received a comprehensive update.
Luckily, the City Council wants to recruit you for the review and modernization of the Charter!

The committee will comprise of 9 community members.

You will meet regularly to review documents on outdated pieces of the City's "rulebook" (Charter) and provide recommendations for changes that should be made. All recommendations will then be presented to City Council and if approved, go on the ballot for the community to consider.

On February 27, 2004, the City Council initiated the establishment of a Committee to review the City’s Charter. To learn more, refer to the detailed report item 8(e).

Committee meetings are expected to start in late summer or early fall 2024.
