Duties
As the Council's advisor in matters relating to roadways, public parking, public transportation, vehicles for hire, transportation demand management, and transportation system management, the Commission has the duty of making recommendations concerning transportation policy and the ways and means of providing and financing transportation and parking improvements and programs.
Membership
- Five members
- Four year term
- Two term limit
- Two (2) student ex officio non-voting members are appointed by the commission
- No compensation
Qualifications
- Each appointed member of the transportation and parking commission shall be a qualified elector at the time of appointment and during incumbency.
- At least three members of the transportation and parking commission shall be persons who either currently or previously as a result of their training, experience and attainments are qualified to analyze and interpret transportation and parking information including, but not limited to, transportation planning, transportation program management, transportation and advisory agency, civil engineering, transportation, traffic engineering or urban planning. - The two (2) student ex officio members shall be one high school student and one college student
- Elected officials may not serve on the commission.
- Active commissioners are not allowed to serve on more than one board/commission/committee (as defined in Title 2 of the Glendale Municipal Code) at the same time.

The Public Works Department provides administrative support for the Transportation & Parking Commission. The Director of Public Works or the Traffic and Transportation Administrator can provide additional information regarding Commission issues.

Student Commissioners
