Home MenuNorth Cumberland Heights Historic District
The North Cumberland Heights Historic District consists of 179 single-family homes in a neighborhood with especially deep historical associations. A large portion of the area was developed by the Campbell brothers, Dan and Arthur, associates of Leslie Brand who were instrumental in the establishment of Glendale's beautiful neighborhoods at the base of the Verdugo Mountains. The proposed district contains many fine examples of the Period Revival architectural styles of the 1920s and 30s, along with Minimal Traditional and Ranch style homes from the 1940s and 50s. In October 2010, the Historic Preservation Commission considered a nomination filed by area residents to establish a historic district and voted unanimously to allow the designation process to begin, finding that the neighborhood appears to meet several of the City's criteria for designation.
