Hike/Mountain Bike Units
The volunteer Glendale Trail Safety Patrol (TSP) was established in 2013. We offer a Hike Unit and a Mountain Bike Unit.
Members of the TSP serve as ambassadors of the Community Services & Parks Department to provide for the safety and well-being of park and trail users, preserve and protect park resources, and promote an enjoyable experience for all park visitors.
Trail Safety Patrol members are required to:
- Devote a minimum of two hours per month (24 hours per year) in the city’s open space as a Trail Safety Patrol volunteer
- Participate in the Trail Safety Training program
- Attend Trail Safety Patrol meetings
To become a Trail Safety Patrol member:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be in good health
- Submit a Trail Safety Patrol Application Packet to the CSP Department by e-mailing it to TrailOpenSpace@GlendaleCA.gov; go through an interview, background and reference check; and sign a volunteer agreement and release of liability.
- Undergo the City-mandated Trail Safety Training program.
