“Fire-flow tests are conducted to determine pressure and flow-producing capabilities at the location within the distribution system.  The primary function of fire-flow tests is to determine how much water is available for fighting fires, but the tests also serve as a means of determining the general condition of the distribution system.” AWWA

If your project requires a fire sprinkler system GWP will provide an estimate to perform a fire hydrant flow test.   GWP will provide you with an estimate for the results of the test.  The results will include the observed static pressure prior to performing the test, the observed flow rate during the test, the observed pitot gauge pressure, the observed residual pressure, and the calculated available flow rate from the fire hydrant at a residual pressure of 20 pounds per square inch (psi).

To obtain results for a fire flow test please complete the Fire Flow Testing Request by downloading the attached pdf and emailing a completed form to, WaterEngineeringInfo@GlendaleCA.gov
