The Sustainability Officer facilitates sustainability planning and action for the City of Glendale, striving to foster a more livable, sustainable, and equitable community.
The mission of the City of Glendale’s Office of Sustainability is to help meet the needs of Glendale’s residents and businesses today, as well as to help preserve the ability of future generations to meet their sustainability needs. To this end the Office will:
Coordinate City of Glendale departments to promote sustainable practices and resiliency to climate change, inspiring participation throughout the City.
Respond to public inquiries on sustainability matters and direct residents and businesses to appropriate City services.
Design and promote initiatives to spur greater gains in efficiency and sustainable practices, including rewards and recognition programs.
Diligently track results and accountability for success in meeting specific targets and co-benefits such as equity and sustainable economic development
