Problem

When COVID-19 first hit, Glendale Fire, and the 29 other Fire Departments across the 11-city Verdugo Dispatch, were operating in the dark.

Data from L.A. County was fragmented among different sources and
hard to analyze. 

Solution

Data was aggregated from L.A. County and Verdugo Dispatch into two dashboards: one for the public and another for Fire Captains. 

Field data, such as # of Firefighters out of operation or in quarantine due to COVID, was communicated across all of Area C. 

Surges in hospitalizations could be tracked in real-time. 

Residents could check in daily to understand the magnitude of the pandemic.

• Dashboard referenced during Council Meetings to assist in vaccine compliance
• Awarded Certificate of Recognition of Outstanding and Invaluable Service to the Community from U.S. House of Representatives, California State Senate and Assembly, County of Los Angeles, Mayor of Glendale, and Glendale Fire Chief
