Organics
Food Scraps, Food-Soiled Paper Products, & Yard Trimmings
Organics recycling refers to materials that come from plants or animals, such as food scraps, paper products, and yard trimmings.
How to Participate
Separate your food scraps in any clear bag.
Use a separate container (ex. a bucket or pail) in your kitchen to collect food scraps.
When the food scraps bag is full, tie a knot and place in your organics bin/cart.
A/C Units: The City picks up AC units (from single family residents only) as a bulky item. Household Hazardous Waste and the Glendale Recycling Center do not take these. However, Household Hazardous Waste does take the Freon chemical inside, up to 5 gallon bottles. See this article for more information.
What are "White Goods"
Major Appliances, or White Goods, include refrigerators, stoves, water heaters, dishwashers, trash compactors, A/C Units, microwaves, and more. These can be removed by:
Contacting your hauler and scheduling a Bulky Item Pick-Up or
Contacting the retailer or company where you purchased the appliance
