Home MenuNorth Verdugo Road Safety Improvements Project
Scope of Work
This federally-funded project is intended to improve traffic safety on North Verdugo Road, between the northerly and southerly Canada Boulevard wyes. The project is comprised of both traffic signal upgrades and installation of digital speed feedback signs along the corridor.
The traffic signal equipment at 5 intersections (Verdugo Loma Drive, Crestmont Court, Wabasso Way, Fern Lane, and Glorietta Avenue) will be modified to increase traffic signal visibility, improve vehicle detection, and upgrade intersection safety lighting. Furthermore, 6 permanent digital speed feedback signs will be installed at strategic points along the corridor to remind motorists of their vehicle speeds and encourage advisory speed compliance at curves. The combined effect of these improvements is expected to reduce accident frequency on the affected segment of Verdugo Road.
