Scope of Work

  • Selective removal and repair of broken and damaged curbs and gutters; driveway and alley approaches; sidewalks; and deteriorated asphaltic concrete pavement;
  • Installation of new gutter on Ocean View Boulevard;
  • Installation and/or reconstruction of curb ramps meeting current Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines;
  • Installation of bulb-out at Ocean View Boulevard and Broadview Drive;
  • Surface grinding of existing asphalt concrete pavement;
  • Placement of Asphalt Rubber Hot Mix (ARHM) surface course;
  • Relocation of Catch Basin at North East Corner of Ocean View Boulevard and Broadview Drive;
  • Modification of traffic signal system at Ocean View Boulevard and Broadview Drive;
  • Installation of new traffic signal system at Ocean View Boulevard and Verdugo Road;
  • Installation of pavement striping, bike lane, and other pavement markings;
  • Removal of three existing trees and planting of five new street trees; and
  • Increase the length of the westbound bus stop at Honolulu Avenue and Market Street.

  • UPDATE 10/19/17: Construction is nearly complete on this project; final checks and final work on concrete installation will be complete this month. Check out some photos below!

  • UPDATE 10/11/17: Stamped concrete crosswalk work was delayed this week by unforeseen circumstances. Final installation of these crosswalks at the intersections of Ocean View Bl. and Broadview and Sunview Drives will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, 10/17-10/18, from 7am-4pm. One lane of traffic will be open in both directions at all times and traffic control will be on site to aid drivers.
  • UPDATE 10/4/17: Grinding and paving work finished ahead of schedule last Thursday. Crews are making finishing touches in the area and making sure everything is in place for the Montrose Oktoberfest this weekend. Final installation of stamped concrete crosswalks will take place as previously scheduled on 10/9 and 10/10, with all work completed by 10/13.
  • UPDATE 9/15/17: Some alterations have been made to the construction schedule posted below on 9/13/17. Grinding and paving will take place as noted below throughout the week of 9/25-9/29, but the night work to install stamped concrete sidewalks at the intersections of Ocean View Blvd. with Sunview Dr. and Broadview Dr. will take place on Monday, 10/9 and Tuesday, 10/10 from 8pm-6am. During these times the intersections will be closed due to the crosswalk installation. Traffic control will be in place to aid drivers. Residents in the area will be formally notified of this night work 3 days in advance. All project work is projected to be complete by October 17.
  • UPDATE 9/13/17: Grinding and paving will take place on Ocean View Blvd. from Verdugo Rd. to Honolulu Ave. from Monday, September 25 through Friday, September 29. Construction hours will be from 7am-3:30pm on those days. Additionally, installation of stamped concrete crosswalks will take place at the intersections of Ocean View Blvd. with Sunview Dr. and Broadview Dr. This work will take place at night, from 8pm - 6am. Details on the exact days each task will be completed are forthcoming, and residents in the area will be formally notified 3 days in advance.
