Scope of Work

  • Enhance traffic flow along surface streets in the vicinity of the subject intersections; 
  • Enhance operational safety;
  • Reduce traffic delays and improve travel time;
  • Modification of existing curb returns and installation of bulb-out;
  • Installation of new curb ramps meeting current Federal American with Disabilities Act requirements;
  • Reconstruction and Resurfacing of existing intersection pavement;
  • Relocation and installation of existing and new street lights;
  • Modification of existing traffic signal;
  • Installation of traffic striping and pavement markings
  • Construction of a bioswale at the northwest corner of Coronado Drive and Monterey Road

UPDATE (6/14/17):Grinding work will be taking place on Glendale Ave. at SR-134 and on Monterey Rd. from Verdugo Rd. to Geneva St. on Wednesday, June 14 and Thursday, June 15. Expect delays but at least one lane will be open in both directions at all times.

On Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17, paving work will be taking place on Monterey between Verdugo and Geneva. Expect intermittent closures and significant delays in the area. Additionally, off and on ramps to SR134 at Glendale Ave will be closed from 8pm to 5am Saturday, June 17. Traffic impacts on Glendale Ave. could be significant on these days so please plan commutes and other travel accordingly.

UPDATE (5/31/17): Paving and grinding will be taking place on Monterey Road, Geneva Street, and Glendale Avenue in the area around the SR-134 interchange the week of June 12-18, 2017. Expect delays and temporary closures on these roads in the area throughout this week.

UPDATE (12/22/16): Pavement rehabilitation will begin Tuesday, January 3, 2017 on Monterey Road from Geneva Street to Verdugo Road and on the SR-134 on/off ramps. Expect lane closures and increased traffic delays. At least one traffic lane will be open at all times during construction.
