Notice is hereby given that:
The Glendale City Council will conduct a public hearing to consider the appeal of Patrick Masihi (“Appellant”) of the decision of the Director of Public Works granting an Encroachment Permit (EP-823) to Verizon Wireless, LLC for the installation of 5G small cell wireless telecommunication facilities in the public right-of-way located in front of 1544 W. Kenneth Road, Glendale, CA 91201. The public appeal hearing will be held in City Council Chambers, 613 E. Broadway, 2nd floor, Glendale, CA 91206 on November 7, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. The hearing will be held in accordance with the Glendale Municipal Code, Title 2, Chapter 2.88. Anyone interested in the above case may appear at the hearing and voice an opinion (either in person or through counsel, or both) or file a written statement with the Director of Public Works prior to the date and time set for the hearing.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Verizon, a state regulated public utility, has requested to install a low-profile and low-power small cell wireless facility, in the public right of way adjacent to above locations. These sites will be a part of Verizon's 5G telecommunications network in the City of Glendale.
CODE REQUIRES
(1)Approval of a wireless telecommunication facility encroachment permit is required for this location.
(2) Wireless telecommunication facility encroachment permit applications proposed to be located in non-preferred zones or historic districts, the director of public works shall hold a public meeting, for the purpose of receiving public comments regarding considerations related to the time, place and manner of such a facility.
APPLICANT’S PROPOSAL
Verizon is submitting applications for new nodes which are low-profile and low-power small cell wireless facilities in accordance with The City of Glendale Municipal code, ordinances and regulations. The proposed installation consists of a remote radio unit (RRU), disconnect switch, power supply units, pull boxes near or adjacent to the pole and electrical panel on street lights, spam poles, and cabinets attached to Verizon fiber.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: Exempt
The Public Works Engineering Division will conduct a in person public hearing in Council Chambers, 613 E. Broadway, Glendale, CA 91206, on Monday, July 17th, 2023 at 6:00 p.
The hearing will be in accordance with Glendale Municipal Code, Title 30, Chapter 30.16 and Title 12, Chapter 12.08.037. The purpose of the hearing is to hear comments from the public with respect to the cell tower installations.
